Imagine a really special dinner party. Forty friends in full fetish dress, getting together at a really exclusive boutique hotel in a lovely setting near Marlow and Henley. We take over the entire hotel, bedrooms, restaurant, the lot. The food is good, the wine is decent – and we set up a dungeon to play in. It doesn’t matter whether you are young or old, sub or dom, whether you play in the dungeon or not – the only rule is that you have to dress up. Rubber, leather, TV, whatever you like. No business suits or little black dresses. It’s decadent, elegant and exclusive. That’s the Formal Fetish Dinner Party.
We’ve held a few of these fetish dinner parties now and, needless to say, people do suggest other ideas over a glass of wine… Caroline earns her living teaching people to fly and she owns a rambling old Edwardian vicarage in South London, with lots of spacious bedrooms – and a dungeon. Caroline has a theory that bisexuality is the new black. Women have enjoyed their bi side for ages, of course, but blokes are more hung up about it. Once a month, we hold a Bisexual Party at the vicarage. Just twenty or thirty people, a nice crowd and we do our bit to expand people’s horizons.
Another guest at the dinner party is the lovely dominatrix from Brighton, Miss Velour. Italian, full of fun, likes opera and a deliciously naughty woman. Who could resist? Not me, that’s for sure. Brighton is such a cool place and Velour has a studio full of every kind of stainless steel, rubber, suspension gear and apparatus the very sight of which sends shivers down the spine of the submissive. Hence the Brighton BDSM Party – what better excuse for a kinky weekend by the sea.
The fetish scene traditionally caters for the submissive man. Everything from the fabulous way the women dress to the iconography surrounding BDSM is for his delectation. However, women now demand more of everything – including the luxury of submitting to the person they trust and care for, in private and atmospheric surroundings. The Submissive Women’s Party is for sub women and their dom partners only. There are no others present. There are no single men. Everyone must book in advance. This is a very safe space for submissive women. There’s a range of super equipment to try out, from a fucking machine to a sybian, to electrics, and even private lockable rooms. If you are a woman who fancies a luxurious way to spend a Sunday evening on the receiving end once in a while, tell your man about this.
One of our friends has a funky little bar in Hackney and we organise rude get-togethers there. Another has a lovely apartment in Covent Garden, where we hold very exclusive swinger parties. What’s the point of all this and why is it different? A good question and here’s the answer… The Chardmore Society is small; we have no wish to get big. Just a few friends is perfect. Most of our parties have no loud music; you can actually talk to people, would you believe. We don’t care whether you are young or old, black white or brown, thin or fat – we just look for nice people. No riff-raff, as Basil Fawlty might say. It’s just for fun.
