Gérard Musy Exhibition in Paris – 4th-18th November
Opening reception: Tuesday, November 4th, 2014, from 6 to 9 pm.
Gérard will be present.
Gérard Musy : Kaléidoscope Cornucopia
Galerie Esther Woerdehoff, 16 rue du Perche, 75003 Paris, France
The Galerie Esther Woerdehoff is proud to present a recent series of images by Swiss photographer Gérard Musy, which will be exhibited in a pop-up venue located in the Marais area.
This is not Gérard’s fetish work, which we have often published in Skin Two, but it is so stunning, you will love it.
Gérard Musy’s Kaleidoscope series display a multiple and dynamic concept, celebrated by day and night. In the temporary Mois de la Photo Off space, Kaleidoscope will be presented in different ways: A slideshow will be projected on the gallery window, framed prints exhibited on the walls and finally, all the photographs of the series gathered in a central portfolio. Music by Satie, Cage and Ligeti, tunes from musical boxes and scores from musicals will accompany the visitor into that immersive and vibrant vision.
The joyful subjects of Kaleidoscope, including Andalusian Feria costumes, Siena Palio riders, fair roundabouts, Christmas windows, circus arenas, summer beaches, etc. are turned into a bright and colourful explosion in these photographs. The close-up compositions become nearly abstract. Kaleidoscope (in Greek etymology “lovely appearance”) displays a firework and festival of colours: a beautiful visual serendipity.
Gérard Musy, famous for his sleek and sophisticated black and white photographs, has initiated a reflection on colour. At first, there is an natural attraction to bright colours that has always been important through out art history – often we forget the vibrant colours existing on antique or medieval sculptures. Then, it reminds us the eternal opposition between colour and black and white: for example, the opposition between Malevich’s and Rodchenko’s monochrome paintings in the beginning of abstract art. To be more down to earth, that alternation can be also observed by the return of black beginning of the ‘80s after an extreme multicoloured psychedelic era throughout the ‘60s and ‘70s.
Within his horn of plenty – Cornucopia – Gérard Musy offers the viewers a motley mixture, spectacular patchwork and eruption of blazing colours. That chaotic effect is even enhanced by assembling four mirroring photographs within the same frame.
Photography is thus reflection of life and energy.

Jess Eaton
Celebrated designer Jess Eaton has saturated the national press with her subversive and potent erotic work, which empowers women and transcends both art and fashion. After wowing the world as the woman behind ‘Roadkill Couture’ – which has garnered a huge following from fashion titans including Lady Gaga and Kate Moss – Eaton’s focusing her attention on the passion at the heart of her work and life -sex.
The Brighton based artist’s work echoes her own inimitable thirst for life, love and lust. Her new pieces are the first in a larger body of work named COITUS that includes sculpture, jewellery and culminates in a fashion show in 2015. COITUS celebrates her wild and imaginative approach to sex, all given her trademark ‘dark edge’.

Andrew Shoben
Andrew Shoben is the founder of greyworld, a world renowned artists’ collective which creates public art. Whilst greyworld’s work has
increased in size and scope over the last 20 years, Andrew’s personal work has begun to focus on the private, the personal, and the hidden.
Whilst both bodies of work are playful, Andrew’s personal work explores more sensual themes, and seeks to allow interaction on a smaller, more intimate scale. Working in a variety of media, including neon, large format prints, and new mechanical works, the results are unusual, sensual art that hold the gaze.
After lecturing at the Royal College of Art for four years, Andrew became Professor of Public Art at Goldsmiths University. He is a regular contributor to television, radio and print, and lectures extensively around the world. Most recently he presented a show on BBC Radio 4 entitled “Change of Art,” and was nominated President of the Royal British Society of Sculptors.
Michelle Mildenhall
Michelle Mildenhall is a UK artist with a distinctive style. She creates provocative art that combines stylised imagery with her passion for
latex in a new and innovative way. Michelle’s work is highly recognisable, as each artwork is meticulously constructed using sheet latex.
Michelle seduces the viewer into a world of disconcerting beauty and mystique. By using popular but somewhat taboo themes of
sexuality, fetishism and subversion, she creates work in which a fascination with the subject evolves and an underlying element of sexual association develops purely because of the medium in which she creates her art.
Michelle’s work has been exhibited throughout the UK and in America and has appeared in international publications. Her artwork is being featured in a BBC interior design program this Autumn and has also been published in Skin Two magazine.

The Submissive Women’s Party – Sunday August 17th
This is a small affair, just for fifteen or twenty couples, held at a pleasant club to the West of London, near Heathrow airport. It’s a safe and friendly space for submissive women and their dominant partners to play among like minded people.
Everyone must book in advance, so we know who they are. The doors are locked and no random strangers are admitted. Couples and single women are welcome, but no single men are allowed – submissive women are free from predatory gropers here!
There is a roomy dungeon and lots of equipment to try out. There’s a sybian, for instance – there are not many of those in the UK. Also a fucking machine, a TENS machine, whipping benches, a suspension frame, gynae examination chair, etc. You are welcome to have a go at these and, if you like, we can show you how to use them safely.
The Submissive Women’s Party is on a Sunday afternoon, starting at 3pm and going on until 8pm, so you can play for a few hours and then go home for dinner, or chill out at one of the lovely pubs in Richmond.
It’s only £15 admission and no alcohol is sold, so bring your own if you like. Bring snacks too, if playing makes you hungry. No cameras and no smoking inside the building, of course.
To book, go here – www.chardmoresociety.com/buy-tickets/
The Submissive Women’s Party is run by the Chardmore Society, which also holds several other intimate BDSM parties, including a posh dress-up fetish dinner, and a bisexual party. The organiser is Tim Woodward, publisher of Skin Two magazine and you can contact him with any queries at all via the website here – www.chardmoresociety.com
